One of the most difficult things for a new phlebotomist is getting that first year of experience.
Each year, you and thousands of other knowledgeable phlebotomists and medical assistants graduate from accredited universities nationwide. Phlebotek understands that you want nothing more than to start your career in the medical field as soon as possible. As you know, landing that first job can be just as difficult as it was getting your certification.
It seems like every job you see requires prior experience. What can you do to gain this necessary experience and build a resume that makes you more attractive to potential employers? By partnering with some of the best and well-known schools in the country, Phlebotek is here to provide a solution. We are excited to announce the Phlebotek Internship Program.
Our internship program allows medical care providers such as hospitals, laboratories, clinics, and wellness companies to offer you a four-week internship. An internship will provide you with the necessary experience, knowledge, and confidence you need to achieve your next goal – landing the perfect job.
Each day, Phlebotek receives calls from health care providers searching for phlebotomists. After you complete a phlebotomy job application, our staff matches your application with the requirements of a health care organization near you. If there is a good match, Phlebotek will work on your behalf to get you the internship.
About the internship: For 4 weeks, you’ll be gaining hands-on, real-world experience at a health care organization near you. While the internship is unpaid, the inclusion of experience on your resume is invaluable. The organization will have you perform various responsibilities and the schedule may be staggered.
Are you eligible?
1. You graduated from an accredited program, school or university and received a diploma or certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Assistance within the past 6 months.
2. You may also apply to be an intern if you graduated within the past year and have had working experience since then. Volunteering experience is acceptable.
3. You can commit to about 4 weeks of work.
4. You can pass a background check.
If you are eligible, please complete the standard job application. If an intership opening is available, we will contact people in the area with less than 1 year of experience.
